VTech has just announced the InnoPad, a multi-functional educational tablet for children 4-9. The device has a 5-inch touchscreen display, a tilt-sensor for game control, microphone, as well as interfaces for USB, SD card and a headphone jack.
The InnoPad is designed for interactive and animated reading, educational gaming and creative activities. These contents will be offered in form of software cartridges. Nine titles will be launched with the InnoPad, including Disney/Pixar’s Cars 2, Disney Fairies, Disney Princess, Dora the Explorer, Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, The Penguins of Madagascar, Scooby-Doo, SpongeBob Squarepants and Disney/Pixar’s Toy Story.
VTech’s tablet for kids also include integrated MP3 and video players as well as Calculator, Calendar, Notepad, Clock, Address Book applications. The InnoPad is priced at $79.99 and the software title costs $24.99 each. They will be released in Fall 2011.
