At Verizon press event in New York City, the biggest carrier in the US announced the launch of CDMA iPhone 4. Don’t expect big changes. Apple has just updated the antenna of the iPhone 4 to work with Verizon’s CDMA EV-DO Rev. A (800, 1900 MHz) 3G network.
Verizon’s CDMA iPhone will also come pre-loaded with iOS 4.2.5, including Personal Hotspot function for sharing 3G connection via WiFi (WiFi tethering). Hardware, such as screen, camera, are just the same as the GSM/WCDMA iPhone 4. Just like other CDMA phones, the CDMA iPhone 4 won’t do data while in a phone call, due to limitation of CDMA technology.
Verizon will release the CDMA iPhone 4 on 10 February 2011 for $199.99 for 16GB and $299.99 for 32GB, with 2 year of contract.
