Nikon Vision announced a new laser rangefinder, the Laser 1000A S. As well as actual distance, height and horizontal distance, the Laser 1000A S displays slope-adjusted distance (horizontal distance ± height) in the viewfinder. It offers a measurement range of 10–915 m/11–1,000 yd and a wide field of view of 7.5 degree.
Nikon’s Laser 1000A S features an Active Brightness Control Viewfinder for easy, clear viewing with orange LED which is automatically turned on when it is used in darker situations; improved light transmittance for a brighter field of view; larger ocular for easy viewing (18 mm) and 6x monocular with multilayer coating for bright, clear images. It is waterproof up to 1 meter for 10 minutes (but not for underwater usage).
