LG officially announced the Optimus 2X P990 (aka LG Star), the world’s first dual-core smartphone, sporting a NVIDIA Tegra 2 processor running at 1GHz. With a dual-core processor, the Optimus 2X is going to offer faster, smoother web browsing and applications and lets users multitask with virtually no screen lag.
LG Optimus 2X features a 4-inch WVGA 800×480 touchscreen and a 8 Megapixel rear camera with 1080p MPEG-4/H.264 recording, a 1.3 Megapixel front camera for video calling, 8GB internal storage. The phone, of course, supports also 1080p video playback and offers HDMI output. It has microSD card slot, micro USB port and 1500mAh battery.
LG Optimus 2X will be available in Korea in January 2011 and will be shipped with Android 2.2 Froyo and upgradeable to Android 2.3 Gingerbread.
