As rumored and promised by Jack Wong, CEO of Meizu, the Chinese PMP maker is going to release the M9 Android-based smartphone, which is intended to be the successor to the M8. The new M9 runs Android 2.2 with Meizu’s own UI. It features a 3.5-inch 960×640 high-resolution touchscreen with multitouch support. Not only does it look like Samsung’s Galaxy S (international verison), it is also powered by a 1GHz S5PC110 processor that is also used by Galaxy S.
The Meizu M9 has a 5 Megapixel camera with 720p HD video recording. It supports GPS, WiFi 802.11b/g/n and GSM/GPRS/EDGE and WCDMA/HSDPA/HSUPA networks. There are mini USB port for charging, microSD card slot for expansion and a 3.5mm headphone jack.
