LaCie launches the Slim Blu-ray external USB 2.0 Blu-ray Disc writer. The portable drive not only play Blu-ray movies but also let users create and record Blu-ray discs. It write BD-R SL at 6x, BD-R DL at 4x, BD-RE SL/DL at 2X as well as DVD+/-R at 8x, DVD+RW at 8x, DVD-RW at 6x, DVD-RAM at 5x and CD-R/RW at up to 24x.
The Slim Blu-ray is just 25mm thick and weighs 320g. It comes with the Cyberlink Blu-ray Disc Suite that includes Blu-ray playback and disc burning software. The price is $264.99.
