Orb, a digital media streaming company, launches its Orb TV online video streamer that brings you thousands of TV shows, online videos, movies, photos, music and more from the internet. It supports streaming from Hulu, Netflix, YouTube, ESPN and more. However, the VP-1 doesn’t stream content directly from these services, instead users have to install Orbcaster server software on a Mac or Windows computer on the same home network. The Orbcaster will then push media to the Orb TV.
The Orb TV doesn’t offer HD. It features built-in WIFi connectivity and has USB port, which can probably be used for media playback. Users can control the Orb using the company’s free Orb app for Android and iOS. The device provides composite and component video output. The Orb TV VP-1 costs $99.99.
