Orange releases in the UK the ZTE-made San Francisco (aka ZTE V800/ZTE Blade) Android smartphone. The budget-priced phone is powered by a 600MHz processor and runs Android 2.1 OS. It has a 3.5-inch 480×800 capacitive touchscreen, a 3 Megapixel camera, Bluetooth, GPS support and WiFi connectivity.
The San Francisco has only 150MB internal memory and supports microSD/SDHC up to 32GB. It supports tri-band WCDMA 3G networks. The handset is available for only GBP99 on Orange pay as you go.
While UK version (V800) gets Android 2.1, ZTE will also release an upgraded version, the V880, with a 5 Megapixel camera and runs Android 2.2 Froyo OS. The V880 will be released in China as ZTE V880 by China Unicom; and in Japan as Libero 003Z by Softbank.
