Panasonic is launching in Japan the new DIGA DMR-BF200, a Blu-ray DVR recorder with built-in digital HDTV tuner and 320GB hard drive. The device can record TV programs to either internal hard drive or BD-R, BD-RW, DVD-R/RW/RAM discs. It uses MPEG-4 AVC/H.264 format for video recording.
The Panasonic DIGA DMR-BF200 also supports playback of Blu-ray discs and DVD media, but 3D Blu-ray and BDXL are not supported. There is also a SD card slot that allows direct media playback from memory cards. It offers HDMI output, composite output, and an Ethernet jack. Coming on 15 November, the DIGA Blu-ray/HDD DVR is priced at 70,00 Yen and available in white and black.
