Sony Ericsson LiveView Bluetooth Micro Display for Android Phones

Sony Ericsson announced the LiveView Bluetooth micro display with remote control functionality, which is part of the cellphone maker’s Extras portfolio. The LiveView uses Bluetooth connectivity to wirelessly pair up to a compatible handset and mirror that activities of the phone, allowing consumers to control the phone without taking it out of their pocket or handbag. Other than Sony Ericsson’s own Xperia X10, X10 mini, X10 mini pro, the LiveView also works with other smartphones running Android 2.0 or above.

The LiveView lets users read text messages, read RSS feeds, see incoming calls, show calendar reminder and keep up to date with the latest news on Facebook and Twitter. It can also control music function of Sony Ericsson mobile phones and display track info. The micro display can be attached in a watch strap, on a keychain or clipped to a laptop. It features a 1.3-inch color OLED 128×128 display and microUSB port for charging.

Sony Ericsson is going to release the LiveView in Q4 2010.
