Garmin introduces the new Edge 800 GPS device with touchscreen for cyclists who want accuracy and simplicity when tracking their statistics and location for racing and recreation. The device has a 2.6-inch display with a simple touchscreen interface.
With high-sensitivity GPS receiver with HotFix that quickly acquires and maintains satellite reception and information directly from GPS satellites, Edge 800 accurately tracks speed, distance, time, GPS position, elevation, calories burned, climb and descent. It also supports the ANT+ technology for wireless sync with compatible third-party power meters as well as Garmin heart rate monitors and speed/cadence sensors. The Edge 800 also includes a barometric altimeter to pinpoint changes in elevation.
The Edge 800 supports microSD memory card, allowing users to to load TOPO U.S. 24K for highest level of topographic detail and optional City Navigator mapping. It comes with a low-profile, quarter-turn mount that fits easily on the stem or handlebars with tight-gripping rubber rings.
