4DDynamics, a Belgium-based company introduces the PicoScan, a compact 3D scanner based on the professional Mephisto 3d scan engine. The PicoScan is basically a a standard Canon EOS 1000D/Rebel XS DSLR camera combined with a Pico projector on top. The scan engine will control the camera and creates 3d data when it comes ‘alive’ if hooked up to a laptop.
The 4DDynamics PicoScan is priced at $1999.
