Livescribe introduces the new Echo smartpen as the follow-up to the Pulse smartpen. Basically, the Echo captures everything consumers hear and write and provides quick and accurate access to important information by simply tapping on the written notes either directly on paper or on a computer using the Livescribe Desktop software.
The Echo smartpen has a sleek ergonomic design with a rubberized grip and anti-roll surface. It has 4GB or 8GB internal storage that is enough for 400 hours and 800 hours of recording respectively. The new pen includes micro USB port, a 3.5mm audio jack, built-in speaker and OLED display. Users can install application to the Echo. Applications range from rich reference tools like a complete 120,000 word American Heritage Desk Dictionary to simple games and study aids.
The 4GB Echo smartpen is priced at $169.96 while the 8GB model costs $199.95. Also available are the $29.95 Echo 3D recording premium headset, the 24.95 Smartpen Portfolio all-in-one solution for professionals and the $24.95 Deluxe Carrying Case.
