Samsung ships its new Spinpoint MT2 1TB 2.5-inch internal mobile hard drive that is ideal for use in portable storage devices, set-top boxes, HD media players..etc. Samsung’s new MT2 1TB drive uses 333GB per-platter technology and runs at 5400RPM speed. It features SATA 3Gbps interface, 8MB buffer memory and supports Native Command Queuing.
The Spinpoint MT2 has a 12.5mm form factor and includes Samsung’s SilentSeek and NoiseGuard technologies to minimize noise levels during drive operation. The drive delivers “about 20% increased read/write performance and 4% lower power consumption compared with competitive drives, and it features shock resistance levels of 400G (2ms) in operation mode and 800G (1ms) when the power is off”.
The Spinpoint MT2 is also available in 750GB.
