Motorola announced the AP6511 802.11n WallPlate access point (AP) designed to extend 802.11n wireless LAN network to multi-room facilities quickly. Designed to “hide-in-sight”, the AP6511 is about the size of a deck of cards and mathes the decor of any room.
The AP6511 WallPlate uses in-wall CAT5/6 cabling and can be installed in a matter of minutes, according to Motorola. This WallPlate operates in either 2.4 Ghz and 5.0 Ghz frequency bands to support 802.11b/g/n or 802.11a/n wireless LANs and packs dual 3.5dBi gain antennas and 2×2 MIMO technology extend the performance and range for legacy and new 802.11n clients.
The compact Motorola AP6511 WallPlate will be released in Q4 2010.
