Zoom launches the R24, a “total music production solution” that combines four production tools into one device. Other than 24-track playback and 8-track simultaneous recording using SD memory cards, the R24 is a digital multi-track recorder, an audio interface, a control surface and a pad sampler.
As a sampler, the R24 offers 24 built-in voices that can be triggered using 8 pads and 3 bank keys to assign sounds to each track and create loops. It also offer drum machine function and 400 rhythm patterns. The recorder supports recording to SD cards up to 32GB. It’s control surface capability can also be used to manage function of DAW software such as included Cubase LE 5, Logic and Sonar. The R24 uses USB connection.
