OmniVision announced the OV2720 the world’s first 1/6-inch, native 1080p/30 high-definition (HD) CMOS image sensor designed for notebook, webcam and video conferencing applications. It utilizes the 1.4-micron OmniBSI pixel technology offering a z-height of 3.5mm. The OV2720 supports 8-/10-bit raw RGB data and offers Digital video port (DVP) parallel output interface.
Two models are available, the OV2720-A50A in 50-pin CSP3 package and the OV2720-G04A in RW package. Both offer 2 Megapixel resolution and 30 frame rate at 1080p resolution.
