Western Digital (WD) launches the new VelociRaptor 10,000RPM 2.5-inch hard drive with 450GB and 600GB capacities. As the only 10,000 RPM SATA hard drive on the market, the VelociRaptor uses SATA 6Gb/s interface and comes with 32MB cache memory.
The WD VelociRaptor includes the NoTouch ramp load technology and offers ultra cool operation. Other than 2.5-inch version, there is also 3.5-inch model with the IcePack enterprise-class mounting frame with a built-in heat sink.
