Onkyo launches three new home theater in a box (HTiB) systems, the 7.1-channel HT-S5300, 5.1-channel HT-S3300 and the HTX-22HDX. All these systems support the new HDMI 1.4 connectivity standard for new 3D video displays and Audio Return Channel capabilities.
The Onkyo HT-S5300 offers a total 1200W output with a 10-inch 290W powered subwoofer and the WRAT technology and discrete amp construction for cleaner sound. It has four HDMI 1.4 connectors and comes with dedicated iPod dock (UP-A1) that works with iPhone, iPhone 3G/3GS and iPod touch.
The 5.1-ch HT-S3300 features 660W output with a 8-inch Subwoofer and three HDMI 1.4 inputs. Both systems sport Audyssey Dynamic Volume, 4 DSP Gaming Modes and support for Dolby TrueHD, PLIIz and DTS Master Audio decoding.
Onkyo’s HTX-22HDX, on the other hand, is an ultra compact home theater system. It uses a combo subwoofer and A/V receiver plus two front speakers and Onkyo’s own Theater-Dimensional processor to create a convincing surround effect through just 2.1 channels. It can handle HD Audio formats from Dolby and DTS and has three HDMI 1.4 inputs.
