Sharp announced the IS01 Android MID for KDDI au, one of the Japanese mobile network operator. The new IS01 is boosted by Qualcomm’s SnapDragon processor and runs Android 1.6 OS. The clamshell device featuresa 5-inch large New Mobile ASV display with multitouch and 960×480 resolution and a 5-row QWERTY keyboard.
The Sharp IS01 MID features a 5.27 Megpaixel auto focus camera, a 0.43 Megapixel front camera for video call, integrated 1Seg mobile TV tuner, 4GB internal memory, Bluetooth, WiFi 802.11b/g, IrDA and a microSD card slot. It supports CDMA 3G network.
The Sharp IS01 will be released in early June in Black and Light Blue colors. Sharp will also release the brown developer version, JN-DK01, in May.
