Samsung brings to the MWC 2010, other than the Bada-based Wave, another flagship device, the Halo i8520 (aka Beam i8520) Android phone with built-in DLP projector, in addition to the 3.7-inch Super AMOLED WVGA touchscreen. It includes also the so-called “Specialized Projector UI”.
Samsung’s Halo comes with a 8 Megapixel auto focus camera and a front VGA camera for video calling. The phone is able to record 720p HD video at 30fps and suppors playback of H.264, h.263, MPEG4, and DivX/XviD video files as well as popular audio files. The i8520 supports A-GPS, Bluetooth and WiFi 802.11b/g/n connectivity. DLNA is also supported.
Samsung Halo i8520 runs Android 2.1 OS and includes Hybird Widgets and a Bada-like UI. It has 16GB MoviNAND internal storage and supports microSD/SDHC card. The projector phone works on Tri-band HSPA/UMTS and quad-band GSM/EDGE networks.
