RedPark, a product development firm, announced its serial cable reference designs, the DB9 and RJ11, for use with iPhone and iPod touch. Both reference designs have been approved by Apple and are for OEM use.
These serial iPhone/iPod touch serial cables make it possible to connect an iPhone or iPod Touch to serial devices such as medical or scientific instrumentation, point of sale devices, networking devices..etc They work with the iPad too, according to RedPark.
