Blue Microphones announced its second generation Mikey Portable Recorder for iPhone and iPod at the CES 2010. The new Mikey features custom-tuned Blue capsules for professional-quality stereo recording capabilities, a 230-degree range of adjustability with seven detent positions and “an improved acoustic circuit that allows for higher quality recordings of high-volume events, like concerts”.
Blue’s Mikey 2G includes a 3.5mm line-in for direct recording of other sound sources. It is priced at $99 and will be available in Spring 2010. Also, Blue Microphones has recently released the Blue FiRe free, high-fidelity field recording app for iPhone and iPod touch.
