Audio-Technica announced the new AT-LP60-USB LP-to-Digital USB turntable system that transfers vinyl records to digital media files, The system features automatic operation, and a 33-1/3 and 45 RPM speed selector. It gets a heavy-duty cast aluminum platter, a high-quality Dual Magnet stereo cartridge with replaceable stylus, and a pickup arm with soft damping control.
The AT-LP60-USB comes with built-in phono preamp that enables connection to a wide variety of home entertainment systems, powered speakers, and to A/V receivers that do not include a phono input. The device comes with PC- and Mac-compatible Audacity software for converting audio on a record to digital audio files.
The Audio-Technica AT-LP60-USB will be released in January 2010 is priced at $229.00. Also available is the $149.00 AT-LP60 that lacks USB connectivity and software.
