LaCie announced the 12big Rack Network, a all-new 19-inch 2U rack-mounted NAS and iSCISI for SMB and branch offices. This enterprise NAS/iSCSI appliance is built on an Intel server class motherboard, an Intel Quad-Core Xeon Harpertown E5410 2.33 GHz processor and 2GB of RAM.
Thanks to the hardware RAID controller, the 12big Rack Network supports six RAID modes (RAID 0, 1, 5, 6, 10, and 50). It offers 12 3.5-inch drive bays and two 2.5-inch bays. The storage server is pre-installed with Microsoft’s Windows Storage Server 2008 Standard Edition.
LaCie’s 12big Rack Network is available in 6TB ($7,999), 12TB ($9,999) and 24TB ($13,999) models.
