IO-Data announced in Japan its new BRP-US6, a slim 6X Blu-ray disc burner. The slim external burner is ideal for use with your notebook/netbook on-the-go. It uses USB 2.0 interface.
IO-DATA BRP-US6 features 6X burning for BD-R SL, 4X for BD-R DL, 2X for BD-RE and up to 6X reading for BD-ROM. It also burns DVD+/-R at up to 8X, DVD+RW at 8X, DVD-RW at 6X, DVD-RAM at 5X and dual layer DVD+/-R at 4X. CD-R/RW are also supported.
The IO-DATA BRP-US6 is based on Sony’s drive. It measures 137(W)x154(D)x20(H)mm and weighs 330g. The USB Blu-ray burner will be released in mid-December 2009 for 29600 Yen.
