Verizon is going to release the CDMA version Samsung Omnia II touchscreen smartphone on 2 December 2009. The Omina II is running the new Windows Mobile 6.5 OS and comes with Samsung’s TouchWiz UI. Social networking applications for YouTube, Facebook and MySpace are pre-loaded.
Like the original GSM/UMTS Omnia II, Verizon’s Omnia II has a 3.7-inch AMOED touchscreen, a 5 Megapixel auto focus camera with flash and video recording, 8GB internal memory, Bluetooth and WiFi connectivity. The handset supports playback of DivX and XviD video files. It has a microSD card slot for expansion. Opera 9.5 web browser is included as well.
The Omnia II supports most Verizon’s services such as VCAST Music, VZ Navigator, V CAST Video On Demnd. It will be available for $199.99 after a $100 mail-in rebate with a new two-year contract.
