AMD announced the new ATI Radeon HD 5970 that claimes to be the “fastest graphics card in the world. The 5970 is equipped with dual GPUs with a total of 4.3 billion 40nm transistors and GDDR5 video memory. It uses PCI Express 2.1 x16 interface and supports DirectX 11.
Radeon HD 5970’s engine runs at 725MHz clock speed and it has a memory clock speed at 1GHz. It offers up to 4.64 TeraFLOPS processing power, 1.45 billion polygons/sec polygon throughput, 256.0 GB/sec memory bandwidth and support for ATI CrossFireX.
ATI Radeon HD 5970 includes DXVA 1.0 and 2.0 support. It provides a max resolution of 2560×1600 via Dual Link DVI with HDCP and 1920×1080 via HDMI 1.3.
