Cranberry DiamonDisc diamond-like DVD lasts for 1,000 years

Cranberry introduces the DiamonDisc, the “1,000-Year Data Storage Solution” DVD that is made of high tech, diamond-hard stone. The diamond-like DVD has no adhesive layers, dye layer or reflective layer to deteriorate and is transparent, unlike convenional DVDs. It is able to withstand prolonged temperatures extending up to 176 degrees Fahrenheit as well as UV rays that would destroy conventional DVD disks.

The Cranberry DiamonDisc is fully backwards-compatible and can be read by any DVD player/DVD drive. However, specialized hardware is required to etch the DiamonDisc, which is now available to consumers fror less than $30 each.

Instead of writing your own discs, after you purchase DiamondDisc discs, you have to send your files to Cranberry and they will etched those files to the discs and mail you the finished discs. If you want to burn you own DiamondDisc, get the Cranberry Disc Writer for $4995, including 150 blank DiamonDisc.
