Lenovo quitely launches its new IdeaPad U550 notebook PC. Boosted by Intel CULV, the U550 is running the latest Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit OS. Certain models will also get WiMAX support.
Two models are available. The IdeaPad U550-374955U is boosted by Core 2 Duo SU7300 1.3GHz processor, 4GB of DDR3 memory and ATI Radeon HD4330 graphics card with 512MB video RAM. It packs a 320GB hard drive. On the other hand, IdeaPad U550-37495EU sports Pentium Dual Core SU1400 1.3GHz CPU, 3GB of RAM, Intel GMA 4500MHD video chip and a 250GB hard drive.
Both of them have a 15.6-inch 1366×768 LED-backlight LCD display, a DVD burner, a fingerprint scanner, a 1.3 Megapixel webcam and Bluetooth 2.1 +EDR. The U550-374955U gets Intel’s Wireless Wi-Fi/WiMAX Link 5150 module for WiMAX and WiFi support while the less advanced U550-37495EU comes with Broadcom’s WiFi 802.11b/g module.
Comes in Dark Brown, the IdeaPad U550-374955U and IdeaPad U550-37495EU are priced at $799 and $679 respectively.
