Lexar announced the new JumpDrive SAFE S3000 FIPS enterprise-class USB flash drive (left) which is FIPS 140-2, Level 3-validated by the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) to offer unsurpassed data protection.
Lexar’s FIPS 140-2, Level 3-validated, enterprise-class drives, co-developed with Gemalto, features smart card-based security with AES 256-bit hardware encryption and a waterproof composite metal housing that meets military 810-F waterproof standards. “The receipt of the FIPS 140-2 Level 3 validation is further proof that the advanced data security capabilities, coupled with the smart card technology, make the JumpDrive SAFE S3000 line among the most secure USB flash drives available today.”
The JumpDrive SAFE S3000 FIPS is available in 2GB, 4GB and 8GB capacities. Lexar offers also the JumpDrive SAFE S3000 (right) that drops FIPS 140-2, Level 3-validation but still with smart-card security and AES 256-bit hardware encryption, which is available in up to 16GB. These highly-secured USB flash drives works with PC and Mac. They will be available in Europe in 2010.
