Sprint Samsung Intrepid WM6.5 Phone

As Microsoft is launching the Windows Mobile 6.5 OS, we’ve seen a bunch of WM6.5-based smartphones, such as HTC Pure, Tilt 2 from AT&T and Verizon’s HTC Imagio. Now Sprint announced the launch of the new Samsung Intrepid (aka Samsung Ace II, Samsung SPH-I350), a bar-type QWERTY mobile phone running the Windows Mobile 6.5 Professional.

The Samsung Intrepid is actually the CDMA/GSM dual mode version of the Samsung Jack. meaning the Intrepid works with both CDMA EVOD and UMTS/GSM networks. It gets a 2.5-inch touchscreen display with 320×240 resolution, a 3.2 Megapixel camera with video recording, Bluetooth, WiFi, GPS support and a microSD card slot. The Intrepid offers easy access to social networking sites, including Facebook, Flickr and Twitter.

Sprint will release the Samsung Intrepid on 11 October with pre-installed SIM for $149.99 after  a $50 instant savings and $100 mail-in rebate with a new two-year contract.
