Panasonic announced in Japan the new Let’s Note CF-S8 and CF-N8 ultra portable notebook PCs, both running the newest Windows 7 Professional OS. In fact, the S8 and N8 are almost identical, except the S8 comes with an integrated DVD SuperMulti burner.
Panasonic’s new S8 (model CF-S8HYEADR) and N8 (model CF-N8HYCADR) is powered by an Intel Core 2 Duo P8700 2.53GHz processor, 2GB of RAM (Max 4GB), a 250GB hard drive, and integrated graphics. They have a 12.1-inch 1280×800 LCD display.
These two new Let’s Note laptops support both WiFi 802.11a/b/g/n and Mobile WiMAX, They offer a PC Card slot, a SD card slot, an HDMI output and VGA output. The S8 weighs 1.32kg while the N8 weighs just 1.265kg, with battery. They will be available on 22 October 2009.
Panasonic also refreshes the CF-F8 (model CF-F8HYRCDR) and the CF-R8 (model CF-R8HWKCDR). The 14.1-inch F8 gets a Core 2 Duo SU9400 1.4GHz processor and integrated DVD burner. The smaller R8 packs Core 2 Duo SU9600 1.6GHz CPU and a 10.4-inch LCD display. Both models have 2GB RAM, 250GB hard drive, WiFi. The F8 includes also WIMAX support.
