Hard drive make Seagate introduces its hard drive-based HD media player, the FreeAgent Theater+ (Model STCEA201-RK). The device offers 1080p Full HD output and supports Dolby Digital and DTS 2.0 + Digital audio. It supports most media formats (listed below).
The FreeAgent Theater+ has no internal drive, instead it offers a docking system for the FreeAgent Go portable hard drives. There are also two USB on the back and a front mount USB for external USB storage devices. The HD player offers also Ethernet LAN port for network connectivity so you can access and play digital media files through your home network.
Seagate’s FreeAgent Theater+ supports NTFS, FAT, FAT32, HFS+ file systems. It offers HDMI, Composite, Component,Optical S/PDIF audio and Stereo RCA sound outputs. Seagate will release in October the FreeAgent Theater+ Wireless Adapter for adding wireless connectivity to the player.
The Seagate FreeAgent Theater+ stand-alone unit is priced at $149.99 or bundled with a 500GB FreeAgent Go drive for $289.99.
