After 3M debuts the MPro120 pico projector, Optoma now updates its pico projector line with the new PK102, a follow-up to the PK101. The PK102 is based on DLP display technology and offers a 480×320 native resolution and up to 800×600 resolution through VGA adapter.
PK102 doubles the contrast ratio, compare to the PK101, at 2000:1. It can produce image of up to 60-inch diagonal with 3:2 native aspect ratio. It’s LED light source lasts over 20,000 hours of life span. The PK102 plays media files directly supporting XviD and MJPEG, MPEG2/4, RM/RMVB, WMV and DivX after video conversion, as well as JPEG and BMP image files.
Optoma’s new pocket-sized projector gets 4GB internal memory for media playback. It packs a 1100mAh Li-ion Rechargeable battery. It will be priced at about $250.
