Garmin nüvi 1690 Navigation Device with nüLink Support

Garmin announced the new nuvi 1690 portable navigation device (PND) that comes with integrated wireless module for users to access the company’s nuLink! service. Thanks to the wireless connectivity and nuLink, the nuvi 1690 can easily access Google local search, traffic, weather, fuel prices, movie listings, flight status, local events, white page telephone listings and Ciao!, Garmin’s exclusive location-based social networking system.

Garmin nüvi 1690 is pre-loaded with maps and traffic data provided by NAVTEQ. It offers a comprehensive POI database and lane assist with junction view. The PND includes also the ecoRoute, an innovative application that helps customers stretch their dollars and conserve fuel by creating routes that are optimized for using less fuel. There is also Bluetooth connectivity for handsfree calling.

The US version of Garmin‘s nuvi 1690 comes pre-loaded with maps of North America. It will be available in Q4 for $499.99 including first two years of Garmin nüLink! subscription.
