Olympus announced the new E-600 entry-level digital single lens reflex (DSLR) camera that can be considered as a lite version of the E-620 without backlit buttons, multiple exposures, aspect ratios and comes with few art filters.
Olympus E-600, based on the FourThirds system,packs a 12.3 Megapixel image sensor and TruePic III+ image processor. The E-600 features in-body image stabilization, four-frames-per-second burst speed, in-camera Art Filters, Face Detection technology and a 2.7-inch swivel Live View HyperCrystal III LCD display. The camera accpets CF, UDMA,MicroDrive and xD memory cards.
Olympus’ E-600 includes also Dust Reduction System to produce spot-free photos with the Supersonic Wave Filter. The ultrasonic technology vibrates to remove dust and other particles from the front of the image sensor and captures it on a special adhesive membrane every time the camera is turned on.
To be released in early November 2009, the Olympus E-600 will be available as a kit set with ED 14-42mm f3.5/5.6 Zuiko Digital Zoom Lens. The price will be $599.99.
