Ampro, part of Adlink, launches the RuffSystem 840, an Extreme Rugged embedded PC. The device meets the MIL-STD 810 standard, which means it is shock/vibration resistant and has the ability to work under extremer temperature (from -40-degree C to 75-degree C) and humidity. The RuffSystem 840 has an IP5x-rated chassis for water resistant.
Basically, Ampro’s rugged embedded PC is based on the company’s extreme rugged COM 840 Computer-on-Module with rugged EBX carrier board. It packs an Intel Core 2 Duo L7500 1.6GHz processor, GME965/ICH8M chipset, up to 4GB of RAM, integrated GMA X3100 graphics and dual SATA hard drives.
Ampro RuffSystem 840 has VGA output, four serial ports, and Dual Gigabit Ethernet ports. It includes also Mini PCI and Mini PCI ExpressCard expansion slots.
