Samsung announced in the US market the new 8500 series LED HDTV. Available in 54.6-inch and 45.9-inch screen sizes, the 8500 Series features Full HD 1920x1080p resolution, LED-backlight 7,000,000:1 dynamic contrast ratio, 2ms reponse time, Auto Motion Plus 240Hz frame interpolation with separate blur and judder adjustments and Local dimming.
Samsung’s 8500 series has a Touch of Color (ToC) design with Charcoal accents and a crystal neck swivel stand. It offers SRS TruSurround HD audio and two down-firing speakers with integrated woofer.
Samsung’s new LED HDTV supports Medi@2.0, which includes Internet@TV Content Service with Yahoo! Widget Engine for accessing web-based content, playback of MPEG4, DivX, MP3, JPEG from USB 2.0 storage device, Content Library, and DLNA. There are four HDMI 1.3 inputs, two USB 2.0 ports and an Ethernet port and PC input.
The 54.6-inch (UN55B8500) and 45.9-inch (UN46B8500) will be available in August 2009 for $4,499.99 and $3,599.99 respectively.
