Altec Lansing, part of Plantronics, announced two new value computer speakers, the BXR1220 and the VS2621. Priced at just $19.95, Altec Lansing’s BXR1220 features 2-inch full range drivers and Audio Alignment technology. This set of compact satellite speakers has a unique cylindrical design and is powered by USB connection.
On the other hand, the $49.95 Altec Lansing VS2621 is a 2.1-channel subwoofer-satellite combination. It’s subwoofer has a 4-inch side-firing driver providing “low frequency response down to an impressive 45 Hz for realistic bass and surround effects”. The trapezoid-shaped satellites feature full range drivers that extend treble response out to 18 kHz.
There are also three-piece BXR1221 that comes with an addition subwoofer, which is priceda t $29.95; and the $29.95 VS2620 that includes a pair of trapezoidal mini-towers.
