Not only did Onkyo bring us the first Dolby ProLogic IIz AV receiver, the Japanese company announced two new Home-Theater-in-a-Box (HTiB) systems, the 7.1-channel HT-S5200 and the more afforable 5.1-channel HT-S3200.
The Onkyo HT-S5200 offers a total output of 1200-watt with 130-watts-per-channel amplifiers. ITt comes with Onkyo Micro Fiber (OMF) speakers and a 10-inch 290-watt bass-reflex subwoofer. The system is Sirius satellite radio ready and supports Dolby Digital EX and DTS-ES Discrete/Matrix surround sound processing.
On the other hand, the 660 watt Onkyo HT-S3200 has the HT-R370 5.1-channel AV receiver with 110-watts per channel, five speakers and an 8-inch bass reflex subwoofer. It features DTS and Dolby Digital surround processing.
Both system have 1080p compatible HDMI connections and features Deep Color, x.v.Color, Audyssey Dynamic Volume and Dynamic EQ technologies. The HT-S5200 has also Audyssey 2EQ room correction technology. Onkyo’s HT-S5200 and HT-S3200 are priced at $599 and $379 respectively.
