VIA announced the new NSR7800, a power efficient 8-Bay 2U rackmount server. The VIA NSR7800 is powered by a VIA C7 1.5GHz processor, up to 1GB of DDR2 memory. It has two separate S-ATA controllers supporting up to 16TB of storage capacity via eight 3.5 drive bays and S-ATA II ports, which has hot-swap hardware support.
The 8-bay server is eco-friendly by consuming at least 50% less energy. VIA NSR7800 includes dual Gigabit LAN, a bootable Type I Compact Flash port, an optional Mini-PCI port and a VGA port. It supports Windows Server 2003/2007, Windows Home Server and Linux.
