Hitachi announced the CinemaStar C5K500 series 2.5-inch eco-friendly hard drives. The 2.5-inch CinemaStar C5K500 has capacities ranging from 160GB to 500GB. It offers 5400RPM spin speed. Designed for digital video and surveillance applications, the CinemaStar C5K500 hard drives include the SmoothStream technology to enhance streaming functionality.
Hitachi’s CinemaStar C5K500 comes with EcoTrac classification. It feature a read/write power specification of 1.4W, which is 22 percent lower than previous models. Hitachi will ship CinemaStar C5K500 series hard drives in Q2 2009.
