Panasonic announced the new Lumix ZS-series digital camera, including the DMC-ZS3 (aka DMC-TZ7 in Europe) and DMC-ZS1 (aka DMC-TZ6) . These compact cameras feature a 10.1 Megapixel sensor, a LEICA DC VARIO-ELMAR lens with 25mm ultra-wide angle and 12x powerful optical zoom.
The Lumix DMC-ZS3 is world’s first digital camera to have AVCHD Lite 720p HD video recording ability. It comes with Panasonic’s Intelligent Auto (iA) mode with Face Detection and 26 scene modes.
The DMC-ZS1 has standard iA mode without Face Detection. Both cameras have Venus Engine HD and Mega Optical Image Stabilization (O.I.S.). They have a 2.7-inch LCD displauy and offers HDMI output.
Panasonic Lumix DMC-ZS3 will be available in silver, black, blue and red for $399.95 while the Lumix DMC-ZS1 comes in black and silver for $299.95. They will be available in April 2009.
