Other than the ZS3 and ZS1, Panasonic announced the new Lumix DMC-FX580 (aka DMC-FX550) digital camera with touchscreen, which is the successor of the Lumix DMC-FX500. The Lumix DMC-FX580 is a 12.1 Megapixel camera with a 25mm ultra-wide-angle LEICA DC lens with F2.8 brightness and a 5x optical zoom.
Comes with a 3-inch touchscreen LCD display, the FX580 offers hybrid operation system combining the new touch-screen interface and a conventional key-based operation system. The touchscreen camera has the iA (Intelligent Auto) mode that includes MEGA O.I.S., Intelligent ISO Control, Face Detection, AF Tracking, Intelligent Exposure and Intelligent Scene Selection.
Based on the Venus Engine V with twin processor, the FX580 boasts 2.4x processing capability and ISO up to 6400. It can record 1280x720p HD video at 30fps.
Panasonic Lumix DMC-FX580 has an aluminum body and will be available in Silver and Black for $399.95 in April.
