Lenovo introduces the “e” IdeaPad S10e netbook for education. Based on Lenovo’s S10, the S10e education netbook is designed as an introductory mobile PC for students in grades K-12 and as a secondary device for those in higher education.
The S10e will feature the Quick Start, powered by Splashtop, that allows students to quickly check email, browse the Internet, conduct video conferencing, view photos or listen to music without having to fully boot the operating system.
Like the original S10, Lenovo’s IdeaPad S10e is powered by Intel’s Atom processor, up to 2GB of RAM, and integrated graphics. It get up to 160GB hard drive or 4GB SSD for storage. S10e features WiFi, Ethernet and optional Bluetooth. It has a standard ExpressCard 34 slot for expansion. The S10e runs either Windows XP Home or SUSE Linux Enterprise Desktop from Novell.
The Lenovo IdeaPad S10e will be available in November.
