AT&T announces the launch of the new Samsung Epix (i907) smartphone that is the first smartphone to have built-in optical mouse. Located in the center of the device between the right and left soft keys, the optical mouse allows for quick and easy navigation by simply sweeping a finger over it. It can also be used a a 4-eay navigation key.
Having a cool silver finish, the Samsung Epix is a slim, stylish smartphone. The Epix is powered by a Marvell PXA310 624MHz processor with 256MB ROM and 150MB RAM. It features a 2.55-inch 320×320 touchscreen display, a 2 Megapixel camera, WiFi 802.11b/g, support for aGPS and Bluetooth 2.0. There is also a QWERTY keyboard.
AT&T’s new Samsung Epix supports quad-band GSM as well as EDGE and tri-band HSDPA (850/1900/2100) data transmission. It supports AT&T’s services such as AT&T Navigator and Video Share. Epix runs Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional.
The Samsung Epix is available from AT&T for $199.99 with a two-year service agreement and after a mail-in rebate.
