Iomega announes its new StorCenter ix2 network storage device. The StorCenter ix2 packs two 3.5-inch hard drive and offers 1TB or 2TB of storage capacities. The device is equipped with 400MHz processor and 128MB of RAM.
Other than the standard 10/100/1000Mbps Ethernet connection and two USB 2.0 ports, Iomega’s StorCenter ix2 can also get the optional Bluetooth connecitivty for uploading.
The ix2 supports RAID 1 as well as JBOD. It works with Windows, Mac OS X 10.3 or above and Linux. The Iomega StorCenter ix2 is available now, the 1TB version will be priced at $299.99 and 2TB at $479.99 . They will be bundled with the EMC Retrospect Backup Software.
