Pioneer announced at the CEATEC 2008 a 16-layer Blu-ray disc that can hold up to 400GB of data. Pioneer said that this kind of new Blu-ray technology is able to improve optical disc production and save resources. At the shows, though announcing 400GB Blu-ray, Pioneer showed us a 20-layer 500GB Blu-ray.
