Carl Zeiss shows us the powerdomeVELVET, an unique projector that is the “world’s first and only video projection system with an absolutely black backdrop”. The VELVET is based on Texas Instruments’ DLP and BrilliantColor display technology. The VELVET is able to offers a contrast ratio of 2,500,000:1.
Carl Zeiss designed this unique powerdomeVELVET mainly for full-dome projection in planetariums and other domed theaters. It will be available at the begining of 2009.
